      • The OMB-DBK44 two-channelmulti-purpose isolated signalconditioning card allowsOMEGA’s OMB-LOGBOOKand OMB-DAQBOARD-2000Series data acquisition systemsto accommodate two optional OM5isolated signal conditioning modulesof any type*. Each user-configurablesignal conditioning module offers500 V isolation from the systemand from other channels. It canaccommodate an array of signalsfrom low-level thermocouple signalsto strain gage signals.

      The OMB-DBK44 features screwterminals that provide access toeach channel’s analog inputs, aswell as to the excitation output ifthe card is used with a strain gageor RTD module. In addition, eachOMB-DBK44 channel has a cold-junctionsensor mounted adjacentto each screw terminal block. Thispermits OM5 thermocouple modulesto output linearized and compensatedtemperature.

      Expansion Enclosures
      The OMB-DBK44 can be housedin a variety of ways, such as in theOMB-DBK10 three-slot expansion-cardenclosure, the OMB-DBK41ten-slot analog expansion module,or within the expansion slot ofan OMB-DAQBOOK-112 orOMB-DAQBOOK-216.

      Powering the OMB-DBK44
      The OMB-LOGBOOKand OMB-DAQBOARD-2000 Seriescan provide power for the OMB-DBK44via their P1 connectors.The OM5 modules used with theOMB-DBK44 typically require 5 V at30 mA minimum, and can demandup to 175 mA in applicationsrequiring excitation voltages.

      An external 5 V power supplymay be required if the powerrequirements exceed the dataacquisition system’s power output.The external 5 V source is connectedto the OMB-DBK44 via on-boardscrew terminal connections.

      Please note that for applicationsthat demand more than four isolatedchannels, it is more economical touse the OMB-DBK42 sixteen-channelisolated module.
