      • The OMB-DBK43A eight-channelstrain-gage expansion modulefor OMEGA’s OMB-LOGBOOKand OMB-DAQBOARD-2000Series data acquisition systemsaccommodates the connectionof most strain-gage types, fromsingle-element, 3-wire quarter-bridgesto 4-element full bridges.The OMB-DBK43A also includesprovisions for bridge completionresistors and provides four externallyaccessible adjustments on each ofits eight channels, includingexcitation voltage, input gain,offset nulling, and output scaling.Up to thirty-two OMB-DBK43Amodules can be connected to asingle OMB-LOGBOOK orOMB-DAQBOARD-2000 Series,for up to 256 strain-gage channels.

      The OMB-DBK43A includes abuilt-in DC/DC converter, allowingthe unit to be operated from anexternal power source whiledrawing very little power fromthe data acquisition system.The external power source canbe the included AC adaptor, theOMB-DBK30A rechargeablebattery/excitation module, a carbattery, or any 9 to 18 Vdc source.

      The DC/DC converter also providesexcitation voltages for all channels.Each of its eight on-board excitationregulators can be externallyadjusted from 1.5 to 10.5 Vdc.The regulator outputs have remotesensing terminals and feature50 mA current limiting to preventdamage from short-circuits oroverloads. The wide regulator voltagerange lets you incorporate virtuallyany resistive or semi-conductivegage type in your system.
