      • The OMB-DBK42 sixteen-slotOM5 signal conditioning moduleallows OMEGA’s OMB-LOGBOOKor OMB-DAQBOARD-2000 Seriesdata acquisition systems toaccom-modate any combinationof up to sixteen OM5 input signalconditioning modules*. Each user-installablesignal conditioningmodule offers 500 V isolation fromthe system and from other channels.

      A single cable connects the OMB-DBK42’s output to yourdata acquisition device. One OMB-LOGBOOKor OMB-DAQBOARD-2000Series module can support up to sixteen OMB-DBK42 units,providing a total of 256 isolatedanalog input channels.

      Powering the OMB-DBK42
      The OMB-DBK42 can obtain itsinput power from a number ofsources: an included AC adaptor,an optional OMB-DBK30Arechargeable battery/ excitationmodule, or directly from a 12 Vdcsource, such as an automobilebattery. The OMB-DBK42 has abuilt-in DC/DC converter capable ofpowering a full complement of OM5modules even when the unit is fullyoutfitted with strain gage modules withbridge excitation on every channel.

      Signal Connections
      The optional OMB-CN-71 andOMB-CN-72 signal connectionblocks provide a convenient wayof connecting analog signals to theOMB-DBK42. The OMB-CN-71connection block is fornon-thermocouple applications, while the OMB-CN-72, which featurescold-junction sensors, is forthermocouple applications. Eachblock contains 4 terminals perchannel, providing access to boththe OM5 modules’ input andexcitation output features.
