The OMB-DAQSCAN-2000 Seriesof Ethernet-based data acquisitionsystem components providesanalog, digital and frequency I/Ocapability for Ethernet-based testsystems. All OMB-DAQSCAN-2000 modelsare packaged in a 1U high-full rackpackage and include a rack-mountkit that can attach to either the frontor the rear of the enclosure. MultipleOMB-DAQSCAN models can becombined in the same system andsynchronized using a simple SYNCconnection between units. All I/O is accessed via female DB37connectors located at the rear ofthe unit, making cabling easy fromthe OMB-DAQSCAN-2000 to yourdevice-under-test.
Four models in theOMB-DAQSCAN-2000 Seriesare available, ranging from theOMB-DAQSCAN-2002 which offersdigital/frequency I/O, to the full-featuredOMB-DAQSCAN-2001,which includes 16 analog inputs,4 analog outputs, 40 digital I/O,4 frequency inputs and 2 timeroutputs. The OMB-DAQSCAN-2000 Seriesincludes comprehensive drivers forall popular Windows-basedenvironments, including VisualBasic, C/C++, ActiveX/COM,LabVIEW, MATLAB, and DASYLab.Also included with theOMB-DAQSCAN-2000 Seriesis DaqView, an interactivespreadsheet-style application thatis ideal for verifying signalconnections during system design. The compact 1U high 19” rackpackaging of the OMB-DAQSCAN-2000make it a compact componentfor rack-based systems. In additionto the built-in I/O provided by theOMB-DAQSCAN-2000 Series, awide variety of signal conditioningand expansion options areavailable.Below are some sample systemsthat can be derived from theOMB-DAQSCAN-2000 alongwith OMB-DBK options.
High Channel CountThermocouple Measurements
When combined with the OMB-DBK90 thermocoupleinput module, the OMB-DAQSCAN-2000 Series canmeasure up to 896 channels of T/C input. In theexample system to the right, any T/C type can beinstalled into any channel using standard mini T/Cconnectors. Each 56-channel OMB-DBK90 optionconsumes 2U of rack space and can be mountedon the front or rear of the rack chassis. Built-in coldjunction compensation coupled with T/C conversionalgorithms built into the software make temperaturemeasurements easy. Thermocouples are measuredat 1 ms/channel in a system based on theOMB-DBK90.
High-Isolation Voltageand Thermocouple Measurements
The OMB-DAQSCAN can be combined with theOMB-DBK207/CJC options to create an isolatedsystem capable of measuring up to 256 channelsof voltage, thermocouple, RTD and strain gageinputs. All input channels can be scanned up to200 kHz and are isolated by 500 V from otherchannels and from system common. Anycombination of input signals is possible byselecting the appropriate OM5 signal conditioningmodule for the OMB-DBK207/CJC.OMB-DBK207/CJCs can be mounted at thefront or rear of the rack. They attach to theOMB-DAQSCAN via a simple OMB-CA-37-10 cable.
Isolated Digital I/O System
When the OMB-DAQSCAN-2002 iscombined with the OMB-DBK208 options,up to 256 channels of isolated digital I/Oare possible, capable of controlling ACor DC voltages up to 250 V or sensingthe presence of AC or DC voltages. All channels are isolated from one anotherand from the system by up to 500 V. Inputscan be scanned in 16-bit increments atspeeds up to 200 Kreadings/s.The OMB-DBK208 can be mountedat the front or rear of the rack.
High-Speed VoltageMeasurement System
The OMB-DAQSCAN-2005 can becombined with OMB-DBK85 16-channelvoltage input modules to build a 5µs/channel voltage measurement systemwith up to 256 channels. All inputs canhave a different software programmableinput range, from 156 mV FS to 10 V FS,programmable on a per-channel basis. The 16 BNC inputs on the OMB-DBK85can be accessed from either the front orthe rear of a rack system.
Multifunction I/O System
All of the foregoing capabilities can becombined into a single system usingone OMB-DAQSCAN-2001 as thesystem centerpiece.
