Introducing the
XLe and XLt OperatorControl Station (OCS) , an "all-in-one"controller, small enough to fit in the palm ofyour hand (only 3.75" square). These are more than just a PLC, they include a Graphical Operator Interface (HMI), built-inI/O, networking and removable mass datastorage. OCS is a robust, reliable controlproduct that combines a traditionalcontroller (programmed with ladder logic)with an operator interface, I/O andnetworking into an integrated, all-in-one unitusing a single industry-recognized softwarepackage called Cscape
TM.
There are three basic model types to choose from in the OCS line:
－－- The HE-XE series has a 128x64 graphical display and a 20-key keypad with 10 function keys and four "soft keys" which can be programmed differently for every user screen.
－－- The HE-XT series features a 160x128 touchscreen graphical display with 4 function keys.
－－- The HE-XL series has a 320x240 TFT color touchscreen with 5 function keys.

6" Color TouchscreensFirst with Removable MicroSD™ MemoryThe XLe is the first industrial product toinclude support for the latest standard inremovable mass storage. To date, this dime-sizedmemory is only found on video-enabled cellular phones and is available indensities ranging from 128 MB to 2 GB. Thisis ideal for storing process data, machinerecipes, and application files. Users caneasily update the application programthrough this memory device– allowinglogic and screen updates to be made in asingle step with transportable media.
Built-in I/O and NetworkingThe four available XLe and XLt models withbuilt-in I/O include digital, analog and highspeed I/O. For machine control, the highspeed I/O can provide totalizing, frequencymeasurement, PWM generation and pulseoutputs. The available universal analog I/Ois ideal for process control applicationswith high-resolution inputs which canbe configured for thermocouple, RTD,4 to 20 mA, ±100 mV, and 0 to 10Vsignals. The XLe and XLt also have fieldinstallable communications options. Aninternal 10/100 MB Ethernet card makesmachine data and XLe programmingaccessible at a plant-wide or world-widebasis. In addition, the XL Series is availablewith an internal 57.6k telephone modem card.While Ethernet and modem are optional, dualRS232/RS485 serial ports and an integratedCAN-based network are standard.
Connectivity I/O Expansion: XL Series I/O expansion is not limited toits built-in I/O.
Smartstix I/O (HE559 series) and Universal Remote I/O (HE359 series) is high-speed and can be local
or highly distributed. Add additional analog I/O (including thermocouples and RTDs) and digital I/O,
as well as relay outputs.

and Ethernet networking as a field-installable option. Single-point-of-connect
allows seamless communication between the computer and any controller.
The HE-XE103 model PLC provides high-speed pulse outputs which can be used to drive any of Omega's step & direction stepper drives. The Cscapeladder logic software has built-in step motor functions which make programming your motion control application easy. The
STM23S-2AN is an integrated stepper drive + stepper motor which accepts pulses from a PLC. Add the HE-XCK USB programming cable and
OMPS150A24 power supply for a complete motion-control system that costs less than $1200.

Please note: All of the PLCs require the Cscape software (free download), a 12-24 VDC power supply,and HE500CBL300programming cable (RS232). A USB programming cable is also available (HE-XCK). Programming cable is also included in HE-CPK software package.
